Kate Nelson-Lee & Lucy Halliday announced as Forge Women coaches for 2026

Kate Nelson-Lee and Lucy Halliday have been announced as the Head and Assistant Coaches for reigning champions Forge Women at The Fly Sixes Lacrosse League 2026.

Nelson-Lee returns to The Fly after making her debut in 2025 as Rise Women’s Head Coach where her team finished third, winning one of their five games, a 15-11 victory over Swift in the third place play-off.

A hugely experienced coach, Nelson-Lee has been involved in both the England and Great Britain women’s set-ups, the latter of which saw her coach some of the best players in the country within the sixes format.

Nelson-Lee said:

I'm excited to continue to craft and shape my sixes coaching style in my second year as a Head Coach at The Fly.

After an exciting first year as Rise Head Coach last year, we will be looking for positive thinking and playing athletes with a creative zest!

Halliday makes her The Fly Sixes Lacrosse League debut in 2026 after impressing as a coach within the England Lacrosse Aspire Programme, coaching the next generation of lacrosse talent.

As part of her role within the National Aspire Programme, Halliday has coached the sixes version of the sport at The United World Games where her team secured second place and a silver medal.

A lacrosse coach at St Catherine’s School, Bramley, Halliday has worked alongside experienced coach Vic Alexander, winning the U19C title and reaching the U14A final at the 2024 National Schools Lacrosse Championships as well as becoming 2024 U13 Surrey County Champions.

Halliday is also a passionate player for Guildford Gators where she has experienced coaching both junior and senior sections.

Halliday said:

Sixes is an exciting format of lacrosse that has speed, excitement, and skill.

It’s my first year coaching at The Fly and I’m looking forward to working closely with Kate, getting stuck in, and helping our team develop both as individuals and as a unit.

I’m looking for dynamic, team-oriented players who elevate each other and contribute to a strong, positive culture. It’s shaping up to be an exciting year and I can’t wait to get started!

Nelson-Lee and Halliday will take to the sidelines leading their Forge Women’s team at The Fly Sixes Lacrosse League 2026 on 16-17 May (Northern Leg) and 30-31 May (Southern Leg) where they’ll be hoping to make it five consecutive titles for Forge.
