Hunt brings European flavour to The Fly ‘26 alongside Lynch as Forge men’s coaches
Netherlands Field and Sixes Head Coach Nathan Hunt brings a European flavour to The Fly Sixes Lacrosse League in 2026 as he takes charge of reigning champions Forge Men.
Hunt will be joined by Assistant Coach Jacob Lynch who returns to Forge after helping them to the title as Assistant Coach in 2025.
One of the most experienced sixes coaches in the world, Hunt has been involved in the Olympic version of lacrosse since its inception.
He took up the Assistant Coach role for the Netherlands Men’s Sixes Team in 2023 before stepping up to Head Coach shortly after, a role he does alongside the Netherlands Men’s Field Head Coach role.
At the 2025 ELF Men’s Lacrosse Championship in Wroclaw, Poland, Hunt guided his Netherlands side to ninth place after a final day one-goal victory over Greece.
Alongside his international coaching roles, Hunt has also been player/coach for his local Rotterdam men’s field team for the past five years and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with him having been a Division 1 NCAA player in the USA earlier in his career.
Hunt said:
I’m excited to join The Fly for the first time and get the chance to coach the best sixes talent that Europe has to offer.
Lynch will make his third appearance as an Assistant Coach at The Fly next year after previously coaching Swift in 2024 and Forge in 2025.
He knows what it takes to win in the competition having led Forge to the title alongside Head Coach Tom Roche in 2025.
Outside of The Fly, Lynch has coached at university level and will feature as a player in this year’s SEMLA Winter Box League.
Lynch said:
I am thrilled to be back for The Fly 2026. As we move closer to the LA28 Olympics, the excitement around sixes continues to grow. There are future Olympians on these pitches, and The Fly continues to be a genuine proving ground for the highest level of the game.
Sixes is a long-term commitment, and the foundations we lay now will shape the pathway, the player pool, and the standard of the game well beyond the next Olympic cycle.
Catch Hunt and Lynch at The Fly 2026 when it returns on 16 & 17 May (northern leg) and 30 & 31 May (southern leg).
