Forge players follow up The Fly title with bronze Euros medals
Three Forge players who helped their team secure a second The Fly title in 2025 followed it up with a bronze medal at the 2025 European Lacrosse Men’s Championship in Wrocław, Poland over the weekend.
Ed Loveland, Tom Roper, and Dan Watson each played a pivotal role in England’s success at this year’s Euros as their team secured third spot on Saturday with a 7-4 victory over Ireland in the third place play off.
Loveland scored 11 (6 goals, 5 assists), Roper scored 15 (9 goals, 6 assists), and Watson scored 20 (11 goals, 9 assists) points throughout the tournament as they helped England to six wins from their seven games, their only loss being an agonising 8-6 defeat to Israel in the semi-final.
All three players were a huge part of the Forge team that secured a second consecutive The Fly title at the Manchester Regional Arena in June.
They were as equally prolific during The Fly 2025 as they were at the 2025 Men’s Euros with Loveland scoring 19 (15 goals, 4 assists), Roper scoring 14 (9 goals, 5 assists)), and Watson scoring 22 (17 goals, 5 assists) points.
Elsewhere in the competition, a further 19 former The Fly players/coaches helped England to third place, seven helped Wales to 14th, five helped Scotland to 13th, one helped Germany to 7th, one helped Norway to 18th, and one helped Netherlands to 9th.
The Fly congratulates all the players involved and we can’t wait to see them back on a Sixes pitch at The Fly next year!
