The Fly players represent at EuroLax Sixes
The Fly 2022 drafted players made an impact at the latest Sixes Lacrosse event competing at the inaugural EuroLax Sixes Cup competition in Portugal last weekend.
12 players selected to play at The Fly 2022 took to the pitch in the Algarve across three days of competition playing for a number of different representative international teams.
There was representation across both the men’s and women’s tournaments with Hustle’s Chess Gray, and Forge goalkeeper Emilie Chandler both finishing victorious for the Great Britain Blue team, while Forge had double success with Tomos Rosser winning the men’s competition with Great Britain White.
Spectators got the chance to see plenty of The Fly talent ahead of the summer, as well as the players getting valuable Sixes game time during the weekend competition.
The event also gave players the chance to catch up with prospective teammates, particularly with the England Under 23 women’s team who won the Bronze medal, containing The Fly 2022 six players, and including Lucy Devine, Cece Green, and India Chadwick who are all set to link up for Swift in June.
Rise retained player Ryan Hunns showed his scoring abilities once again, registering 16 goals across the weekend, while recently drafted Forge player and Welsh international Thomas Porter played for a combined Team Europe squad at the tournament.
In addition, on the coaching side, Hustle Women’s Assistant Coach, Ravi K. Sitlani helped the GB White Men’s side to take the crown, while Rise Men’s Assistant, Rob Ingham Clark led the Belgium Women’s National Team at the event.
